Loving and Learning Educational Center is a child care center located in three Lowcountry areas around Charleston, South Carolina -- James Island, West Ashley and Summerville. Our approach to education begins with loving, designed so a child will flourish in an educational environment. Then comes learning. The talented teachers at Loving and Learning Educational Center focus on how young children really learn -- through play and active involvement. It is our mission to enhance the learning experience of every child while maintaining the highest standards for cleanliness, nutrition and security.

In 1979 the Loving and Learning Educational Center was established on James Island. Founder Joyce Daughtrey envisioned a place where parents could leave their children and trust that they were receiving the very best care, a place where their children were nurtured and provided with age appropriate educational activities, and a place where they weren’t just children entering the center day–to–day, but instead members of a loving, caring family.

As Loving and Learning continued to grow, Joyce and Butch Daughtrey established its West Ashley Center in 1986 and its North Charleston/Summerville Center in 1989.

With 27 years of childcare experience in the Charleston area, Loving and Learning Educational Center continues to offer quality and progressive childcare.
